Sachin Tendulkar - the little master, veteran and the immortal hero of Indian cricket team is now back with a bang, after a short interval.
No one is able to stop or even control his charging effect, which can be termed as Tendulkar Effect. The news will be an enchanting one for each and every Indian citizen, but an awful as well as a threatening one for the rest of the World.
Firefox, the open-source browser, developed by Mozilla is gaining its popularity among the browsers, as it is light and sleek. It is believed that Firefox has less securitythreats compared to Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE).
But the latest report by Symantec (California based security major), shows that Firefox are more vulnerable to attack than IE.According to the report there are 25 vulnerabilities in Firefox, of which 18 were found to be severe. In the case of IE, there are 13 vulnerabilities, and among them 8 were severe.Symantec defined these severe vulnerabilities as "resulting in a compromise of the entire system if exploited".But according to another security monitoring company, Secunia, there are 19 security issue that IE has to overcome. So these reports will arise a bitter confusion among the professionls in selecting the one, among the two.
Whatever it may be, personally I love the unique- Firefox.
I anxiously hope that the Firefox group would look into the vulnerabilties mentione above, and get it rectified rapidly.
Few years before, I dreamt of Robots, being exploited in myhouse for household tasks such as cleaning rooms, maintaining my garden etc.........
Through digit- September 2005 issue, I came to know thatmy aspiration will be fulfilled within a decade or two.Recent inventions and developments show that robots are beginning to walk, talk and even think like people.Scientists predict that, by 2010 bots (short form for robots) will be pedestrians like human beings. This is a task with tremendous challenge. But the challenge can be overcome through technologies that are innovative.
Kismet and Cogare such experimental robots that are being developed to meet the above mentioned requirements.Sony is one of the firms carrying out researches in this field. The main concentration is to develop bots which could recognize human emotions, react and adapt according to the needs and circumstances. But these developments are not well enough.AI is what the core factor should be.As of now there are no robots which could do household tasks.Robots with human-level intelligence is still far away from our dream.
Bots which are household helpers is what common men desire for. These creatures are expected to make us wake up in the morning, iron our clothes, cook our food, clean the house, and even read newspapers for us.......... so as to make us remain idle !. A panel of industries and academic experts predict that the personal bots will be as common as PCs and cell phones within 10 to 15 years.Developers and manufactures predict that the prices of these household helpers may not exceed those of commonly used laptops ie.around Rs 45,000.Incredible isn't it.
Thanks to the technological advancements.
But we should be conscious and vigilant in the fact that, " not to develop bots that are more intelligent than the human ", which would otherwise result in a world ruled by bots. The occurrence of such a disaster should be eliminated. The mantra should be - We should rule them.
